BerserkOS · for cruise ports

One place forthe whole call.

Skjolden uses BerserkOS every day, from the agent's first email until the ship has sailed.

Before the call

The tour day is planned before the ship arrives.

The cruise line and the agent send tour lists, coach lists and changes, often as PDF or spreadsheets. BerserkOS reads them, links the line's tour codes to your own tours and sets up the plan: which coach, driver and guide takes each group, with meeting time, departure and return.

Before the day it checks that no coach or guide is in two places at once, that drivers keep within the driving and rest rules, and that everyone is back before all aboard. What is missing is listed first.

Skjolden's largest call in 2026 had 65 departures on 17 tours, with 16 coaches and 21 guides, all planned in BerserkOS.

The digital helpers

Three helpers do the groundwork. A person says yes.

BerserkOS has three digital helpers, each with a name and a job. They read what comes in and lay it out ready to check. No booking, tour list or driving list goes in until one of you has approved it.

The only thing a helper sends to agents on its own is a fixed answer on whether a date is free, and the port decides whether it does.

  • Bookings

    Halvard

Halvard reads the agents' email, checks the dates against the quay and writes the reply. You look it over and press send.

  • The tours

    The tours

The helper reads the tour lists and coach lists from the agents and links each tour to your own. You check the preview and approve. When new Tour Group Info arrives for a tour you have approved, the helper updates the guide programme and tells you.

  • The coaches

    The coaches

The helper reads the driving lists the coach companies send to the transport mailbox and turns them into coach days. The transport manager or the port approves.

Bus Broker

Every coach in the port, in one view.

Bus Broker shows the port's own coaches and the partners' coaches side by side, day by day. Driving lists from the coach companies come in by themselves through the transport mailbox, and go in when they have been approved.

Driving time under the EU rules and breaks under the Norwegian working-time rules are checked in the call plan before the day. Hours a driver has with other employers show as unknown until they are given. The driver sees the day on a link on the phone, without signing in.

What the system does not know is shown as unknown. Never as zero, and never as green.

Call day

The board in the office, the job on the phone.

The wall board shows which tours are out, what is running late and when everyone must be back on board. Guides and drivers have their assignment in an app on their own phone: meeting time, coach and guests. They sign up for calls with one tap per call, and the app is free for them.

Quay sales cannot sell more seats than the coach has.

For the council

The numbers the council asks for, for every call and every ship class.

Example: Skjolden 2026

Norwegian kroner to the port and the village in 2026, 41 calls
51m
from the one call by a ship with over 4,000 berths, almost eight times a small ship
2.6m
days of work for guides and drivers in 2026, 110 people
456

By ship size, lower berths

Kroner per call, port and village · higher is better

  • S · under 1,000 0.3m
  • M · 1,000–2,499 0.7m
  • L · 2,500–3,999 1.8m
  • XL · 4,000 and up 2.6m

Kroner to local businesses per call · higher is better

  • S · under 1,000 83,000
  • M · 1,000–2,499 209,000
  • L · 2,500–3,999 614,000
  • XL · 4,000 and up 980,000

CO₂e per guest, in the fjord and at the quay, kg · lower is better

  • S · under 1,000 104
  • M · 1,000–2,499 80
  • L · 2,500–3,999 68
  • XL · 4,000 and up 36

NOx per guest, in the fjord and at the quay, grams · lower is better

  • S · under 1,000 454
  • M · 1,000–2,499 1,456
  • L · 2,500–3,999 993
  • XL · 4,000 and up 86
  • S: small ships score well on the environment, but a call brings about 0.3m. Stallholders have said that ships under 2,000 guests give them a couple of thousand kroner a day.
  • M: mid-sized ships bring 0.7m per call and the most NOx per guest; they are most often the older ships.
  • XL: one call in 2026, a new LNG ship. Nine XL calls are booked for 2027, four of them by LNG ships.
Skjolden's calls in 2026, 39 with a full guest count. Classes by the ship's lower berths, which are fixed per ship. Emissions are calculated from each ship's AIS track through the Sognefjord (about 200 km each way) and its fuel at the quay, per guest counted.

The port fee follows the ship's environmental score: 25 % lower for the cleanest, 60 % higher for the dirtiest. The cleanest call in 2026 had over 5,000 guests and emitted 86 grams of NOx per guest through the fjord and at the quay.

The council asks three things: how many get work, what stays in the village, and what it costs the environment. BerserkOS measures all three for every call, so the port can follow them season by season and steer in the right direction.

You see in advance exactly what a councillor will see. No single businesses, no prices.

Peace of mind

The risks you don't take.

  • You run BerserkOS alongside today's tools, on a short contract, before anything is switched off.
  • The database keeps each port's data apart, and the separation is tested before every new version.
  • An encrypted copy of the database is taken every hour and kept in three places.
  • The data is the port's, and you get a copy whenever you ask.
  • Two-factor is on for office roles: sign-in is confirmed with a code from an authenticator app.
